About Unified Pension Scheme
These answers explain the assumptions and rules most relevant to this calculator. Check the linked methodology and official source before making a decision.
Is UPS the same as an NPS corpus projection?
No. UPS uses an assured-payout framework with qualifying-service and corpus conditions, so it has a separate calculator.
When is the full assured payout available?
The headline rate is 50% of the last 12-month average basic pay after at least 25 years of qualifying service, subject to applicable conditions.
Who can use the UPS calculator?
It is intended for Central Government employees who are eligible for and have opted into UPS under the applicable rules. It does not determine eligibility or replace the option and claim process through the government nodal office.
How does final withdrawal affect the UPS payout?
A final withdrawal gives you money at exit but proportionately reduces the admissible monthly payout. Set final withdrawal to 0% first, then compare higher values to see that trade-off.
